Do you get inspired by something you watch in a movie or read in a book? I find I'm inspired by news (current events) and my own night-time dreams. If I dream something and it affected me with continuous thoughts of it during the day, it turns in to a MD.
How do you start your MDs?

sometimes a movie, story, but more like a piece of my own life experience, maybe one that has not happened, or one that happened and then altered, a future possibility... often the story is a similar plot, the characters change, even the one i play in the story. A lot of times its even third person scenerio, im not in it, but observing as if watching a movie.

Most times, I feel that whatever story happens to me, it's all in my head, and never in real life. In my maladaptive daydreams I'll be in interesting situations with people and having conversations with them. When in reality, I constantly catch myself talking to nobody, but thin air. My family constantly complains that they can hear my voice in the hallway, whether their sleeping or on the computer. Even in public, I almost feel as if I'm talking with someone, only to realize, I'm all by myself. Strangers tend to always look at me, because they can hear me, and think I'm talking to them. Everybody I see in person is nowhere as interesting as the characters I create in my head. So, I find this so very frustrating and really want to turn it all around.
Forming relationships with real people is the next thing I struggle with. If I don't talk so much, they'll just go on to somebody who can, or else make a remark that I'm oddly quiet. I've had customers make jokes with me in a store I worked in, but they abruptly got frustrated, even mad, because I wasn't instantly responsive, all smiley and laughing. If they finally find out I'm on another planet, I'm totally screwed.

Hi, I’m new to the blog but I am very recently triggered by music.it use to be movies and books but my dreams are becoming based on emotions and I very much express my feelings through the music I listen too . For me, music has always been the strength of my MDs. I do get inspiration from movies and books, but they're always carried out with music as if I'm imagining a scene in a film or watching a music video. "Music moves me" so to speak. Physically and mentally.

New to the board My triggers are life situations, old and new and an idealized image of myself handling it. I have often used the DD scenarios in real life with positive experiences. Music often triggers them too. I’ve done this literally my whole life. Is this true for you??

Bad memories, funny videos, songs that remind me good times and some comments in social media triggers me and I imagine myself winning an argument. Also, my life is mundane and I'm not a social person at all. I think this situation triggers me more than other things.
